“Learning through playing”

🌱 Our Vision

Child-Led Learning

Children learn best when they are given the time and space to explore the world in their own way. We value curiosity, imagination, and meaningful play, allowing learning to grow naturally through everyday experiences, movement, and connection.

.Rhythm & Routine

Simple daily rhythms help children feel safe, settled, and at ease. Through familiar routines, shared meals, songs, stories, and seasonal activities, we create a gentle flow to the day that supports both emotional and physical well-being.

Nature & Imagination

We want children to grow up with soil on their hands, stories in their hearts, and a strong connection to the natural world. Outdoor play, natural materials, creative activities, and imaginative play are woven into everyday life within the school.

Screen-Free Early Years

Early childhood is a time for real experiences: climbing, building, running, creating, listening, helping, and playing together. We aim to provide a space where children can fully engage with the people and world around them, without the constant presence of screens.

Introduction

Meaning of “Diwa”

"Diwa" is a Filipino word meaning spirit, thought, or inner soul. It also carries the sense of a living thread that connects people, nature, and community.

Why a Waldorf Kindergarten in Puerto Princesa

Puerto Princesa remains one of the few places where children can still grow close to nature. Forest, sea, wind, soil, bamboo, and open spaces are part of everyday life. These conditions are ideal for a form of early childhood education that values movement, sensory experience, and human connection over early academics and screens.

Growing Through Rhythm and Play

Waldorf education is based on the understanding that the first seven years of life are primarily about building the child’s physical body, basic senses, and trust in the world. Children learn best through imitation, practical activity, and meaningful rhythm. A Waldorf kindergarten provides experiences that strengthen these foundations: free play, handwork, outdoor exploration, storytelling, music, seasonal celebrations, and caring relationships with adults.

More Than a School

A Waldorf kindergarten here is not simply another educational option. It is a community effort to protect early childhood—to support parents, future teachers, and children in creating a healthy foundation for life. Through rhythm, nature, and intentional human relationships, we nurture the capacities that help children grow into balanced, capable, and compassionate adults.
